National Treasure: The canoe, Canada and the Wonders of The Canadian Canoe Museum

Canoe Talks, Educational Talks

National TreasureIn 2007 the canoe was named a wonder of Canada in a national poll conducted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.  Celebrating that development, James created this presentation and took it across the country.  Audiences in cities and towns from Halifax to Victoria were treated to this zany and off-beat ode to the canoe.  As always, however, James ends with a serious observation about the central role the canoe has played in Canadian historiography and mythology and why its preservation and continued use throughout Canada is essential to remembering where Canada and its peoples have been, where we are, and where we are going in the future.  Lots of treats and surprises here including video, music and stunning imagery.
