Rendezvous with the Wild
As a Patron of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society’s Boreal Program, James participated in the organization and execution of a special project to raise public awareness of the value and fragility of the Boreal Forest. Of ten river trips involving a host of luminous Canadian artists, writers and conservationists on ten different rivers from Yukon to Newfoundland. James teamed up with This Hour Has 22 Minutes comedienne, Cathy Jones, with a group on the Berens River in Northwestern Ontario. Stories, poetry, photography and artwork from all of these journeys were collated into an award-winning book called Rendezvous with the Wild. This presentation presents some of the stunning imagery of boreal flora and fauna, spanning the full extent of the country, as well as funny and touching tales and outcomes from this landmark conservation event.
