Travels with Angulalik: The 2010 Coppermine Atanagi Expedition
A young man called Angulalik Pedersen, from the western Nunavut Community of Kugluktuk, won a scholarship to attend high school at Upper Canada College in Toronto. A dream that emerged in the south was to one day take a few of his classmates to his home town. James Raffan supported the idea from the beginning and helped the young Inuk secure funding to make the trip happen with a mix of young people from North and South. The trip was a study in crosscultural contrasts that highlighted the often surprising differences and similarities between Canadian youth raised in very different geographic, cultural and economic circumstances. A canoe trip story with a crosscultural twist.
